Up and coming Randel Eng is playing some strong chess these days. 16 years old he has been rated close to 2100, the young man is a formidable opponent. Playing two games of blitz against him last night, he simply out played me in the first game as I was crushed in the Nimzowitsch Defense. Turning the board around, it was a different story when I played the infamous Blackmar-Diemer Gambit and he slipped into one of it’s many traps:

In this game, my young opponent who has beaten me in several games, fails to develop his pieces. Instead he goes on a hunting spree with his queen to gobble up a bunch of my pawns to his demise.
